Sharing my success with any Aussies out there [04 Sep 2005|08:36am]

mousquetaires
Hi my name’s Marianne, and I wanted to share with everyone my story so far...

I weighed 106kgs and had problems with my metabolism. I wasn’t sure anything could work for me. With a wonky metabolism I had to eat half as much and exercise twice as much! But I stumbled across an amazing all natural herbal based program.

When the first kg’s came off I started to get really excited, I'm now down to 98kg, and all steam ahead till I reach my goal weight. Before starting the program I was always tired and I hated the way I looked.

Losing weight has transformed my attitude. I’m bursting with energy and my confidence has sky-rocketed. The best part is I’m fitting into clothes that have sat in my wardrobe for years. Take a look at: http://gr8healthrus.com for more info.

Hello everyone. Just a quick question:

I've heard conflicting thoughts about liquid calories. Some have said that because liquids digest almost instantly, there is nothing to be done with the calories in a liquid and so it sticks to you. Other people have said it's the opposite, and I've seen people lose weight on liquid fasts.

So which is it?! =O! Thanks!

Hello! My name is Emma... I am trying to lose 30 pounds, the right way, but because I start my freshman year at the University of New Mexico, I'm afraid that it might be more difficult, even though I'm not living in a dorm. My personal diet plan is low calorie, high excercise... but it's not always that easy! Hahaha! I just... always feel like losing weight is more than a "physical issue"- it takes a mental hold of you; and it's not something you should have to do alone. I personally need support, and I can't always find it from my family and friends. I hope I am welcome here to share how I'm doing. Thank you for such a great community!

Hey Guys

My friend is thinking of going on a weight loss program and I'm going with her for moral support. Only problem is, she can't decide which program. I'm thinking either Jenny Craig or La Weight Loss. Can you guys recommend a program or tell me about the two I mentioned? I will greatly appreciate it.

Hi, I'm the wonderful female who made this community.
I haven't even looked at it in a while, I'd been dealing with an eating disorder when I made this.. and for quite some time afterwards. So, lately I've turned a new leaf and am making an honest effort to eat better and exercise like I should have done all along. I was wondering if anybody even reads this community anymore? Or has it on their friends list??? ORRRR if you are interested in starting to post here more often.
Either way I'm going to do away with the tacky icon, and possibly chance the layout a tad.

So ..
I had some canned peaches for breakfast, I always get the ones in heavy syrup by mistake so I just throw them in a colander and wash em off until I'm satisfied that there is no more gooey syrup on them ... then I did my exercise tape that I love so dearly.
Leslie Samsone's Walk Away the Pounds series is amazing, if you ask me. I started with 2 mile and got bored with it so I moved onto the 3 mile, with 2 pound weights, it's about 50 minutes long. I really love it. It doesn't have old fat people dancing around in funny outfits or emaciated models bopping around in bikini-like outfits. They actually have real sized people exercising...even some older people.
Anyways, I highly reccomend it.

I guess that's all the babbling I have for right now. I will be posting more frequently though... I think you should as well.

Hey! :) Just another girl trying to lose weight here. And lose it the right way.

I started dieting a little over a year and a half ago...and actually had success. I was 17, 5"1 and a half, and weighed close to 150. And for that height, that's a lot of extra. One day I was just like "I'm going on a diet!" And slowly, with the help of softball season and dance classes (which I've been in since I was 3!), I lost a bit of weight. So, then my main problem was my eating habits.

The lowest I have ever weighed while dieting was 114...only because I was sick for like 3 days. But for the most part, I was 118 and managed to stay there. Until summer hit, then I gained a few pounds, and the start of this school year I was at 128. Currently I am 122...but still, for my height, and knowing my body and how much extra I still have on it...I am trying to get down again.

**My goal --- 115, with no specific time limit.

Thanksgiving threw me off a bit, but I'll get back on track. Hopefully here, I'll get motivation and also help people along the way.

I don't throw up, or starve myself...not that I haven't thought about it! But I probably have what's close to a phobia of throwing up, I hate it so much! And when I don't eat for more than like 6 hours...I go crazy and just eat (not like a true binge, more like a few hundred calories, not a few thousand). And laxatives...yeah I like pooping normal. :)

Happy dieting to all! :)

Anyone have any low calorie recipes they would like to share? Or any good websites that might have some yummy ones?

Ive tried looking, but dont really come up with much of anything, and usually the best ones come from word of mouth anyway, so I figured I'd give it a shot and ask in here.

Thanks in advance. = )

I really wanted to get opinions from other dieters... I've been dieting AND exercising for a month now. I went to being sedentary to exercising 6 days a week and I have STUCK WITH IT religiously for a month. I've only had two diet mishaps since I've started. I've been counting calories (1200 a day) and fat grams.

BUT THE WEIGHT'S NOT COMING OFF!!!

I'm so frustrated, almost to the point of crying over it, and I'm not one to cry. I'm just so tired of trying so hard and seeing NO RESULT.

I'm not about to give up, because I really want to lose the weight, but I was wondering if someone could take a look at my journal (this is my diet journal - thenewrachael) and see if there's something I could do to improve or maybe move things along a little faster.

It just seems that since I have SO much weight to lose that it would come off faster, but it's not. I'd be happy with 1-2 lbs a week, but I'm not even seeing that really.

HELP!!

I am what I would call extreem dieting curently I have been binging and purging for about 5 months now.. for at least three months I did not keep one thing down. Mostly because I was having cmplications with my galbaldder and it was inpossible to keep things down.. I had my galbladder removed and I did not want to stop. It had just become so easy and over the span of the 5 months I have lost 58 pounds. I am very happy with my progress. I have joined all of you here cause I despertly need to stay moitvated until I am at my goal weight. My stats are sad but here they are:
current weight: 228
highest: 281
Lowest: 180
GOAL: 130
LOST SO FAR: 58 pounds
So I am not sure if I am anna or not but I have had issues with food my enitre life.. I use it as a comfort. I am now finding much more power not having to relay on food all the time. I am hopping to make freinds here and support one another. I also would love any help you could give me and I would love to help all of you in anyway I can. Thank you for your support in advance I have found so much insperation reading you posts...

I discovered these great candies called Sinfully Delicious today. They boast that despite being 2 calories apiece, they taste like real desserts. I passed them up several times with the notion that they would either not taste accurate, or only make me hungrier. But I finally broke down and tried a package of their chocolate peanut butter cup style. OMG my mouth was filled with the exact taste of Reese’s. I went back on my lunch hour and bought 17 more packs. They’re 50 cents per pack of 6, each one being 2 calories and fat free. I passed some out to people at work and they all wanted to know where I got them. They’re delicious. And if you’re like me, any temptation to "cheat" on my diet is to taste something yummy more than to fill my stomach. So a big glass of water and a Sinfully Delicious, and I feel like I ate something "real" without the guilt.

I mean damn, even if I could eat all 17 packs I bought in one day, that’s 17 packs * 6 pieces * 2 calories = only 204 calories. I don’t work for them or anything remotely like that. I just totally found a new helping hand for my diet, and wanted to share. They aren't the best in carbs (each piece weighs 4.4g and has 4g carbs), but I care more about cals personally.

Apparently they currently come in:

  • Banana Creme Pie
  • Cinnamon Apple Pie
  • Chocolate Hazelnut Toffee
  • Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup
  • Chocolate Peanuts and Caramel
  • Key Lime Pie
  • Mocha Butterscotch Sundae
  • Mocha Cappuccino Cake
  • Milk Chocolate Truffle
  • Orange Dreamsicle
  • Strawberry Cheesecake
  • Southern Peach Cobbler

And you can buy them over the ‘Net from their site.

Edit: I should also point out, as the package says, if you consume many, they have a laxative effect.

Hey there [23 Sep 2003|10:34am]

ddr_zealot
Greetings,

I'm David, 26, from Ohio. I've been on a weight loss / fitness regimen for about a year and a half, and I know it has to be a lifelong decision or I'll go right back to being big. I just have one of those metabolisms. Anyway, I eat as fat-free and low cal as I can, and this seemed like a good place to find / trade lo-cal tips and progress.

I'm much like myfaerieaura who just posted, in that I've lost a lot of weight, and that feels good and all, but I'm not fit and tone where I want to be, and I have skin that hangs off me like some kind of weird wet paper bag. I'm currently 140 and I've achieved my goal in terms of weight, but now I need to not concentrate on the number as much as muscle mass. I'm currently really wanting nice abs.

I don't have weights or machines, so I mostly do calisthenics. I try to do 130 situps and 80 push ups in a daily half hour workout. I also (obviously) love playing DDR, so my legs are at least as tone as I want them.

I currently get under 5 grams of fat and under 2,000 cals a day, which I know isn't ideal, but I'm rather obsessed with getting and staying fit. I'm kind of a head case about it. Anyway I know this is a constant battle because the day I go back to living and eating as I used to, I'll balloon right back up. So I'm here to share in the support any way I can, and hope to make many friends. Hi to all!

Hello, I'm new and trying to find some dieting friends to help motivate me to exercise and help me lose these extra pounds.

Some info:
5'10", medium length blonde hair, green eyes, 20 years old. Living in New Jersey, vegetarian. Loves hello kitty, faeries, glitter, the color pink, penpals, etc etc... blah blah...

WEIGHT STATS:
High weight: (January 01): 243 lbs
Low weight/Current Weight: 167
Goal Weight: 135

My main struggle with my weight is exercise. I eat pretty good, low fat everything, vegtarian, avoid dairy whenever possible, haven't had soda in years, etc... and I have lost a LOT of weight but I need motivation to get more exercise since all my weight extra weight is FLUB with no muscle tone whatsoever. This is disgusting, but it mostly just hangs off, like big pockets of skin. (Like those people who lose tons of weight and have all that extra stretches of skin? Like that, but to a lesser extent.) Not saying that some of it is also just fat underneath but the top layers are just stretchy skin. Okay I'll stop being disgusting now. Hope I haven't scared anyone off. :-(

If you are looking for a diet buddy, or just want a friend, please add me! Thanks a lot and hope to befriend a lot of you. :-)

(I have crossposted this in a few journals.)

PS I'm looking for weight loss communitites to join, but since LJ has disable its community search for free members I'm having a difficult time. Any suggestions to good communities? :-)
